Dedolight DLED7 Turbo

The DLED7 is the latest gem from Dedolight

It’s a turbo version of the very popular DLED4 fixture, but almost twice as bright; like a mini HMI

DLED7

I’ve been using Dedolight’s new DLED7 TURBO light for some time now and boy is it powerful; it’s become my go-to light.

The DLED7 has almost double the output of the very popular 40W DLED4 fixture. Although the DLED7 is much brighter, it’s still a similar size to the original DLED4.

Bi-colour, daylight and tungsten versions are available and take most of the original classic accessories; barn doors, projector, etc. The Bicolour version uses 2 x 90W light sources and is continuously variable from a lovely warm 2700K all the way up to 6500K daylight.

I found the DLED7 is almost 2 stops brighter than an Arri 1K fresnel with full CT blue. The heat output from the front of the Arri is substantial, whilst the Dedo7 delivers an amazing heat free zone in front of its lens.

As with all Dedo equipment, the DLED7 is built to last so a great investment; I still have an original Dedolight from more than twenty years ago.

Projection

In the past, I avoided complicated noisy projection setups, but since I’ve had the DLED7, I’m rethinking the whole idea of projecting high-res images. The DLED7 has definitely opened up a whole new world of super bright, low heat, silent projection.

DLED7 features:

  • Perfect flat light distribution
  • Excellent colour rendition
  • Maintains colour temperature when dimmed
  • Flicker free
  • Similar size to original DLED4
  • Powered by world mains voltages or battery
  • Cool operation
